Covid 19 update -
I have made the difficult decision to postpone all courses and classes following on from the Government's advice regarding non-essential travel and contact. The studio is very small and we share tools so, as it would be impossible to sanitise everything effectively, it is in everyone's interests that we hold off until things improve.
I think that I might be able to restart courses in late May/June but obviously this is completely unknown at the current time.
Many thanks for your patience and understanding. I will be in contact with existing students as soon as I am able to offer new dates. Take care. Jane
Hampshire Jewellery Design Studio is a small studio based in South East Hampshire. Tuition is offered in silversmithing and silver clay jewellery making from beginner upward
The studio is fully equipped and offeris a warm and friendly environment that focuses on tuition and workshops in small, informal groups. This means that everyone, what ever their level of experience, has the chance to learn at their own pace and ask as many questions as they need. The studio is situated
between Horndean and Clanfield (about halfway between Petersfield and Portsmuth). There are many great places to stay nearby and full directions and an accommodation list can be provided on request if you are coming from further afield
My name is Jane Shellard and I studied Art at college and also have a degree in English and History. I have made jewellery for many years and trained as a silversmith. I have a formal teaching qualification (Cert.Ed.) and have a full DBS certificate. The studio was set up in 2010 and was previously based in Waterlooville. The studio moved to the current location in a converted stable in 2012. I love teaching others and watching their enthusiam grow. I have had exhibitions locally and sold my work in Canada and throughout the UK.
